A reflection on the vision of the Church built by Saint John Paul II, a Church faithful to orthodoxy and, at the same time, open and responsive to the signs of the times and engaged in dialogue with the contemporary world—this was the aim of the Friday conference in Warsaw on “The Church of St. John Paul II - The Independence of the Spirit.”
The 80th anniversary of the first transport of Poles to Auschwitz has been commemorated
The Holy Mass at the Saint Maximilian Center in Harmęże with the participation of the state authorities and two former female prisoners as well as the laying of wreaths at the Auschwitz I camp site commemorated the 80th anniversary of the first transport of Poles to Auschwitz, which took place on June 14, 1940.

“Taking up the prayer of St. Pope John Paul II, a special witness of this century, I ask God to bestow the grace of faith, hope, and love on all Poles, so that they may make good use of unity and peace along with precious gift of freedom”— Holy Father Francis addressed these words to the Poles on the occasion of the 100thanniversary of Poland's regained independence. The letter was sent to the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki. It is intended for pastoral use on Sunday, November 11th.
