A Divine Mercy image made of selfie photographs will be presented on a huge canvas during this month’s World Youth Day event in Krakow, south Poland. The project authors say its aim is to “bind people from all over the world”.

The photographs to make up the image can be sent in online. The image is being made by youth from the Christ community in Stare Miasto and nuns at the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in the Krakow district Lagiewniki.

“We are making this mosaic to bind people from all over the world. Many people who would like to come to Krakow for WYD cannot come, and by sending in their picture they will be able to participate in this great event”, project co-organiser Katarzyna Walkowska told PAP.

World Youth Day 2016 will take place in and around Krakow on July 26-31. Pope Francis will take part in the event on July 27-31. “Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy” is this year’s WYD motto. (PAP)
