Spokesman of the Episcopate: Every fifth diocesan priest in Poland murdered during World War II
Every fifth diocesan priest was murdered in Poland occupied by the Germans and Russians. Four Polish bishops were killed in the concentration camps, and nearly half of the Roman Catholic dioceses were deprived of diocesan bishops. It was also a war with religion – said the spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik, on the 79th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
Prostyn: The only Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity in Poland received yesterday Pope’s blessing
During the diocesan celebrations in the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity and St. Anna in Prostyn, the crown and nimbus blessed by Pope Francis were imposed on the miraculous statue of the Holy Trinity, called the Throne of Grace. The ceremony took place on May 27, at the end of the octave for the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of St. Anna in Prostyn.
EU Bishops to gather in Poland for COMECE Plenary Assembly on 17-19 April
Delegates from the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union will gather in Łomża, Poland, for the Spring COMECE Plenary Assembly on 17-19 April 2024. Marking 20 years after the big EU enlargement, the Assembly will delve into the voices of Central and Eastern Europe in light of the forthcoming European elections.
Communiqué from the Church side following the meeting of the Sub-Committee on Religion in Schools
On 28 November 2024, the second meeting of the Subcommittee on Religion in Schools, appointed by the Joint Commission of Representatives of the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Bishops' Conference, was held at the seat of the Ministry of National Education. Due to the lack of agreement, representatives of the Church announced an urgent appeal to the Joint Commission of Representatives of the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Bishops' Conference.

150 provincial and general superiors representing active female religious institutes met in Warsaw at the 140th Plenary Assembly of the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious in Poland. This year’s assembly focused on the matters concerning formation. There are 17,553 Polish active nuns who serve in such areas of ecclesiastical and social life in Poland and abroad as educational work, various forms of youth assistance, catechization and other forms of evangelization, as well as spiritual and material help.
