Gifts for the Holy Father from Young Poles
T-shirts of the Olympic athletes, this year’s Lednica package, and the positio for the beatification of Fr. Franciszek Blachnicki were presented to the Holy Father Francis as gifts from the young Poles. Yesterday afternoon, they were delivered to the Synod of Bishops in Rome by the Polish delegation.

“Passover is a celebration of freedom and hope. In this time of pandemic, we also need hope for deliverance from the danger of death. This hope can ultimately be given to us by the merciful God Himself; so much about his mercy is told in the Paschal Hagadah” – wrote the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference in a letter to the Jewish community, sent to Michael Schudrich, the Chief Rabbi of Poland, on the occasion of Passover.

“Taking up the prayer of St. Pope John Paul II, a special witness of this century, I ask God to bestow the grace of faith, hope, and love on all Poles, so that they may make good use of unity and peace along with precious gift of freedom”— Holy Father Francis addressed these words to the Poles on the occasion of the 100thanniversary of Poland's regained independence. The letter was sent to the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki. It is intended for pastoral use on Sunday, November 11th.
