Spokesman of the Polish Episcopate: Mary wanted to be called the Queen of Poland
It was Mary herself who wanted to be called the “Queen of Poland” - said Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik, spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, referring to the Marian apparitions from 1608 and the Feast of Our Lady Queen of Poland that falls on May 3. The main celebrations will take place at Jasna Góra with the participation of Polish bishops.

Religious education in school, initiatives related to the Jubilee Year 2025, and issues of protecting children and young people as key provisions of the so-called "Act of Kamilek" come into force – these are the main topics of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Diocesan Bishops of the Polish Bishops' Conference. The session will traditionally take place at Jasna Góra, on Tuesday 27 August, the day after the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Częstochowa.

- On behalf of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, we thank the organizers of the civic legislative initiative “Halt abortion”, volunteers collecting signatures, 830,000 of citizens who have signed up to this draft law and all the parliamentarians who – by voting for life – supported this civic draft law. We trust that soon the legal guarantees to protect the lives of the weakest will be increased by stopping eugenic abortion – to quote from the Communication of the Presidium of the Polish Bishops’ Conference from January 11, 2018.
