„During a Christmas meeting with the clergy of the Archdiocese of Warsaw, the Metropolitan of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, informed the priests that he had submitted a request to Pope Francis to accept his resignation as Archbishop of Warsaw,” – Fr. Przemysław Śliwiński, spokesman of the Archdiocese of Warsaw, announced.

„The request to accept the resignation has to do with his reaching the age of 75 in February 2025, but has been addressed earlier, without waiting for the exact date of reaching retirement age” – Fr. Sliwinski informed.
