„There are no reports about a terrorist attack threat in Poland during the forthcoming World Youth Day,” Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszczak has told PAP.

Blaszczak declared that conclusions were being drawn from the terrorist attacks in Western Europe but stressed that it was not only services but also volunteers who should pay attention to all alarming situations.

„Services have not recorded a terrorist attack threat in Poland but this does not mean that we make light of any signal regarding any situation outside Poland. I ordered to increase the number of police and Border Guard patrols after the Brussels attack. Everyday additional 7,500 policemen patrol Polish streets, airports, railway stations, shopping malls and other heavily crowded places,” the minister said.

Blaszczak added that after the Nice attack his services again analysed traffic organisation during WYD. „According to services, these plans are well-prepared and well-thought-out, and they ensure security,” he added. (PAP)
