The continental stage of the Synod on synodality will be the main topic of the 394th Plenary Assembly of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, to be held March 13-14 in Warsaw.

„During the Plenary Assembly, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, president of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, and Archbishop Adrian Galbas SAC, coordinator in the Church in Poland of the Synod on Synodality, will report to the bishops on the continental synodal assembly, which took place from February 5-12 in Prague,” Fr. Leszek Gęsiak SJ, the spokesman for the Polish Bishops’ Conference, pointed out.

The PBC spokesman added that the bishops would also discuss the national synthesis of the synodal process. „This is a very interesting and rich document that can be a pastoral inspiration for individual dioceses in Poland, so it is worth discussing. It has also been sent to the Synod Secretariat in Rome and was a reference point for the Polish delegation at the assembly in Prague. Thus, the bishops will be able to look at this synthesis in the context of the various national syntheses presented in Prague, which were developed in countries with religious and cultural environments that are often different from ours,” Fr. Gęsiak acknowledged.

„Another important topic of the Plenary Assembly will be the beatification of the Ulma Family. Archbishop Adam Szal, Metropolitan of Przemyśl, will present a preparation plan for the ceremony, which will take place on September 10 in Markowa, in the archdiocese of Przemyśl, that is, where the martyrdom of the Ulmas took place,” the spokesman of the Polish Episcopate noted.

The 394th Plenary Assembly of the Polish Bishops’ Conference will include the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ election to the See of Peter. „On March 13, in the afternoon, the bishops will proceed to the Shrine of Divine Providence, where they will celebrate a Mass to mark the 10th anniversary of the Holy Father’s pontificate. The Eucharist will be presided over by Apostolic Nuncio to Poland Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio,” Fr. Gesiak noted.
