Under the hashtag  #ThankYouJohnPaul2, one can read in social media thousands of thanks to St. John Paul II, which have been coming from all over the world for several days. #ThankYouJohnPaul2 campaign conquers the Internet and shows that the memory of the Pope from Poland and his message is still alive – stressed the spokesman of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik.

#ThankYouJohnPaul2 campaign consists in publishing in social media words of gratitude to St. John Paul II on the occaSpokesman of the Polish Episcopate: #ThankYouJohnPaul2 campaign conquers the Internetsion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, but also photos, videos, memories. The President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, invited to take part in this campaign.

“Among the thousands of entries, the most are in English, Polish, Italian, French, German, and Spanish, but there are also entries in Russian, Chinese, and Hebrew. On Twitter alone, there are already almost 10,000 entries with #ThankYouJohnPaul2, which have reached several million followers, and this number is constantly growing” – said Fr. Rytel-Andrianik.

He added that cardinals, bishops, dioceses, parishes, organizations, public persons, journalists, artists, media, institutions, universities, athletes and sports clubs from all over the world also join the initiative. “In this way we see who St. John Paul II was and is for millions of people around the world, what impact he had on their faith and life, what his phenomenon is. There are people who write that thanks to the Pope they have returned to the Church and have found their vocation. Many were inspired by his authenticity and openness to man” – added the spokesman of the Polish Episcopate.

The entries come from people from Poland, Italy, Germany, USA, Canada, France, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Russia, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Japan, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Israel, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
